This course will introduce you to the federal Fair Housing Act, also known as Title 8 of the Civil Rights Act. We will outline the seven protected classes and discuss discriminatory conduct and activities prohibited under the law. The last lesson provides you with four actual cases from HUD. You will be presented with the facts and then a question asking you to determine what type of discrimination occurred based on the facts. At the completion of this course, you should understand the importance, intent, and the effect of the Fair Housing Act. You should also have a better sense of your role, as a real estate professional, in implementing this law.
